I have been here for a week, and so far I have learned the following things:

1.) Nothing here makes sense.
2.) Animals are not supposed to talk, and they do. I think I prefer birds when they didn't have conversations outside my window.
3.) Everyone seems to carry their witchbook around, people should lock them up someplace.
4.) There are a lot of strange folks here with odd ways.
5.) What is there to do besides sit around?
6.) Why am I even writing this in here? Note to self: invest in a journal.

Thats what Abel did before he came to work for the Church. What kind of things did you grow?

[breezing]

Mostly vegetables, but some fruits! Air nomads - I'm an air nomad - are vegetarians, 'cause of our beliefs.

[inheavenslight]

See, only one month a year Abel and I have to be vegetarians.

[breezing]

Why's that? [ Genuine interest, which isn't at all rare from her. She's curious about everything. ]

[inheavenslight]

Its because everything works in seasons, the Deity gives us food, but we shouldn't wear it out. So we give em a month to rest for that product and to re-realize its importance.

[breezing]

I heard a little bit about the Deity. What's he - [ a pause, and she corrects herself, cheerfully ] what's em like?

[inheavenslight]

You want to know more? [He actually sounds HAPPY at this.]

[breezing]

[ Ikki is like the Queen of information gathering. She wants to know all about everyone's worlds, and somehow has a lot of their secrets at this point, too. ]

Yep! If you don't mind telling me!

[inheavenslight]

Where would you like me to start?

[breezing]

At the beginning! I only know em's a little like the spirits in my world, but not much more than that!

[inheavenslight]

Okay, I'll start from the start-start of all of it.

A long long long time ago, the Deity laid down to die. But ey grew lonely, and thus created the Lady, the first woman. She picked up a sword and went to learn of the Deity. Then the Deity felt something was missing for both em and her. So man was created, The Sire. And he picked up a pen and went to learn of the Deity.

They both went to learn in their own ways, and eventually they met. And argues over who was right and who was wrong, even though they both learned the same things about the Deity. So they separated and went to learn more, before realizing they both were right. And once more they met up to talk about what they had learned.

They fell in love, and had three children.

The first child, picked up the pen, to record the scripture. The second child, went into the woods to learn, but a demon attacked him and the mother once more had to pick up the sword to defend her child. The second child seeing this, then took the sword to go learn. The third child, seeing that one was following their father, and the other their mother. Decided to learn her own skill. And became the first fisher.

[breezing]

[ And Ikki's listening, with rapt attention. And she has questions, of course. ]

What did they learn? Why'd the lady choose the sword and the man the pen? Which thing did you pick?

I'd want to be like the third one, who did something new! Wouldn't you?

[ Leaning forward, her journal propped up on in front of her as she sits in her family's living room. ] What happened next?

They learned about nature. How like, if something dies, it helps things to grow. That some things are bad for you and some things are good, mostly basic survival skills.

The Lady chose the sword, because she felt threatened by the unknown world. She was the first thing on it after all, the man picked the pen because when he came to be- he saw signs of life and figured it was safe.

I...don't get a choice if I had to pick, because it was already picked for me. Near the end of the scriptures.

Well, what happened next is the Deity started to use the last of its energy to make more people. Because e saw that it was good, except the man and the woman noticed something.

The Lady saw a man, who reminded her of a mother bear she saw many years ago. And the Sire saw a woman who reminded him of an eagle he one day drew. When they talked, the man and the woman would talk about feeling akin to those. Then it came to the Sire and the Lady when they put it together, the Mother Bear- who died for her cubs, was given the chance to be human. The Eagle, who flew the highest and strongest, was given the same chance.

[breezing]

You don't? [ Well. That sounded a bit sad. ] What was picked for you? Do you like it?

So - em made the people from the animals?

[inheavenslight]

They were the animals in their previous life.

And, I was picked to be the Judge. And, of course I do. After all, I was made to be it.

[breezing]

Were you an animal in your previous life?

What's the Judge made to do?

[inheavenslight]

... [According to the Church, he is demonic. A creature of sin for his abilities. He smiles a little instead.] I do not know.


The Judge is made to do exactly that, I am the only Judge of the land for the faith.

[breezing]

Why are you the only one? Is it hard to judge? What sort of things do you judge?

[inheavenslight]

Because, the Judge's duty is to get rid of the people hurting the faith- thus the country and Deity, or if they are doing very well, let them be the examples of how to be.

For a good example, I would use Abel.

[breezing]

How would you hurt the faith?

[inheavenslight]

Okay, remember how I mentioned the dietary laws?

One of them, for example, to eat no fish for the first month. But lets say, 20 people decided to say: No, I want to eat fish! I will eat all the fish I can get.

If the Deity needs time to restock the fish, what does that do to everyone?

[breezing]

It...makes it so it takes longer for em to restock the fish?

[inheavenslight]

And what does that do for everyone else?

[breezing]

It means they don't get as much fish...?

[inheavenslight]

Correct, so someone needs to make them correct that behavior.
