Sermon Two | Text

I have been here for a week, and so far I have learned the following things:

1.) Nothing here makes sense.
2.) Animals are not supposed to talk, and they do. I think I prefer birds when they didn't have conversations outside my window.
3.) Everyone seems to carry their witchbook around, people should lock them up someplace.
4.) There are a lot of strange folks here with odd ways.
5.) What is there to do besides sit around?
6.) Why am I even writing this in here? Note to self: invest in a journal.

You don't have your journal locked up!
tiearibbon: (i'm six years old and this is bullshit)

[personal profile] tiearibbon 2012-07-13 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
Why lock your journal up? That's just dumb.

And there's plenty of things to do here. Don't you ever go outside?

Why do you call it a "witchbook"?

...Witch...book? I am assuming you mean the journals that were given to us upon our arrival? Why would you want to lock it up?

[ UGH that's so offensive, dude, and yet she really can't be mad. ]

You haven't given it much time to let it make sense, Judge. [Abel is probably in the kitchen, making you some potato soup. The book is propped up nearby.] You need more than the time we've had so far.

1. Things often do not make sense to people, however that is generally a matter of perception.
2. Animals talk all the time, they are simply now communicating in a manner you can understand.
3. Witchbook?
4. Once again, this is a matter of perception.
5. There is an opportunity to think, come to be acquainted with your fellow inmates, explore or perhaps just contemplate your lot in life.
6. I shall assume this point was rhetorical.

This 'witchbook' is harmless from my understanding. Keeping it locked up only restrains your ability to communicate from outside a personal level.
thenoonewhosees: (ha ha i get it)

[Oh, that's quite a list. Molly goes through each one by one.]

1. No, it really doesn't, does it? Magic and wings and all of that. It's so odd!
2. Well, actually, aren't all those sounds they make talking anyway? Even if it's just chirps or miaows to us normally, they're definitely saying something to each other.
3. Witchbooks? What a funny name! I don't think they're evil or anything though. They're useful.
4. Odd ways? But that makes things more interesting, doesn't it? It'd be dull if we all were the same.
5. Ha ha. You could explore? I've been thinking about looking around the forest myself, but I'm not really all that much of an outdoor person.
6. Don't you want people to reply? I don't think they could if you didn't write it in your journal. I mean...your witchbook.
wannabolt: (that was special of you)

[Judging by the colorful, rainbow equine in the journal's camera... yup, that weird pony from before is back, and she looks a little perplexed.]

Uh, dude, in some worlds, animals talking is totally normal. At least, ponies talking is for me. We don't even have hue-mans in Equestria.

And I don't see what's so bad about the book. It's not like it's gonna come out and eat ya.

1. It's true.
2. Agreed.
3. Wouldn't help.
4. Also true.
5. Not much, but when there is activity I doubt you'd like it.
6. Good question.

["Witchbook"? Is he talking about the journals? Confusion aside, he's not sure he likes the way this man talks. "Animals are not supposed to talk". Well here they do and in their world it's normal. Why does he have to say they're "strange" like that's a problem?

And this is what provokes him to say, quite begrudgingly:]
Is there something wrong with us being "strange"?
fierybluebird: (irritated phoenix)

Hey, screw you pal, I'll talk all I want.

As for finding things to do, maybe that would work better if you didn't just assume anything different is nonsense.
