I have been here for a week, and so far I have learned the following things:

1.) Nothing here makes sense.
2.) Animals are not supposed to talk, and they do. I think I prefer birds when they didn't have conversations outside my window.
3.) Everyone seems to carry their witchbook around, people should lock them up someplace.
4.) There are a lot of strange folks here with odd ways.
5.) What is there to do besides sit around?
6.) Why am I even writing this in here? Note to self: invest in a journal.

2. Perhaps you could take it up with the birds and arrange for them to chat somewhere other than your window.
3. Obviously? It is said that any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. How can you be sure?
5. Obviously, but it might serve better to get to know someone on your own terms rather than by an osmosis effect.

2. Perhaps negotiate terms of their presence outside your window. I would recommend bribing them with some sort of foodstuff in exchange for keeping down the chatter.
3. You've been brought into an interdimensional nexus, it might be best to keep an open mind.

5. Is behaving in the passive seems rather inconvenient. You do not get to dictate your own involvement sometimes.

Everyone has their own methods of handling their interactions with the world. [Artemis is definitely not passive in handling things. He meddles all over the place.]

They do, and many here seem to be an odd combination of passive and forceful.

That could partly be attributed to a reaction to having a large portion of their liberty stripped away by these Malnosso.

That sounds like a breakdown in communications on both ends. Ironic considering that all languages are universally translated.

Perhaps people are just defensive to accept this place as normal.
