I have been here for a week, and so far I have learned the following things:

1.) Nothing here makes sense.
2.) Animals are not supposed to talk, and they do. I think I prefer birds when they didn't have conversations outside my window.
3.) Everyone seems to carry their witchbook around, people should lock them up someplace.
4.) There are a lot of strange folks here with odd ways.
5.) What is there to do besides sit around?
6.) Why am I even writing this in here? Note to self: invest in a journal.

With gills. And for above water they have lungs.

Fishmen too. One of my brother's a fishman. He's all big and shark-like. Namur's awesome, eh.

Whats a fishman? Are they like male mermaids?

No, male mermaids are mermen. Fishmen are like human-like legs but fish-like upper parts. They're very strong.

Thats very confusing.

Not really, but it probably helps to know them in person, eh.

So your world doesn't have them, or are they just one of those things no one's allowed to learn about?

We don't have anything, and I never heard of anything similar.

That sounds way too homogeneous. It's suspicious.

Whats wrong with that?

Variety is the spice of life matey. Without diversity things would be boring.

I like things being predictable.

why?

Because then I don't have to worry about things going wrong.

Like math?

Right.

But the more you learn about something, the less strange it is. Like a talking bird.

But you see, I like birds.

Do you still find it weird that I talk?

No, because you were taught.

But it's unpredictable, eh?

Birds can be trained to talk.

They can always talk, just not necessarily in a language or with enough sense that humans understand.

I can understand you, and thats whats important.

Indeed. But that still makes me different from the other birds, no? Or did you change your mind about them?
