Sermon Two | Text

I have been here for a week, and so far I have learned the following things:

1.) Nothing here makes sense.
2.) Animals are not supposed to talk, and they do. I think I prefer birds when they didn't have conversations outside my window.
3.) Everyone seems to carry their witchbook around, people should lock them up someplace.
4.) There are a lot of strange folks here with odd ways.
5.) What is there to do besides sit around?
6.) Why am I even writing this in here? Note to self: invest in a journal.

Suppose there was an emergency situation and you are miles away from civilization. You can use this device to make contact and get help.

For more practical daily use, it is a good way to begin meeting strangers you would have no inclination to speak with otherwise.

[Even if the last part he would still prefer face to face, he's playing devil's advocate more than not.]

That is ideal, but you never know. I read that kidnappings that are caused by our captors is frequent. You may find yourself a victim of one.
pretense: (And kidnapped some girls)

It is quite large. But this journal supposedly works from any area of it. It is more reasonable to keep it on hand than to not, as a precaution.

I won't discount the possibility. But, if it does turn out to be evil, then you can always not use it. So long as it isn't destroyed then it shouldn't be returned back to you, according to what I have read.

Indeed they do. The best thing is to not say anything of great importance over the journals to circumvent that. Albeit we do not know if they are spying on us in this village as well, through some other means.

This book is a tool for spying by them, but it is also a resource that should not be wasted on the basis of paranoia.

So you rather we become primitive? If they desired to do anything to us they would have already done it. There is no need to capture us when they can just as easily murder us.
pretense: (No one likes me)

Not if this book is new technology and easily accessible to us. [At least to Tarrlok. The most they had were phones, which in themselves are a fairly recent invention.] Frankly this place is bad enough with experimentation, what else can they do to us that is not this? They clearly want us alive.
